Arrived in BKK

This place is a lot like India! I arrived at 11 a.m. today and will meet my classmates at 4 p.m. today. Time to wonder my hotel and grab a bite to eat.

I will post with more updates and stories later on.

Thailand here I come!

I will be heading off to Bangkok, Thailand on Friday to study abroad for six weeks. If you would like a postcard, please email me at AmolJain@gmail.com. I will try to update this blog with pictures and commentaries while I am abroad, if and when I have access to an internet cafe. So far I plan on traveling to Chiang Mai, Singapore, Angor Wat, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Adios amigos!

Weekend Update

Friday: Attended Diana's going away to medical school party. It was a blast seeing a lot of people who I went to elementary and middle school with and partying with them 7 years after I had last seen them. Albright Middle School Warriors til I die! Good luck in West Virginia.

Saturday: A lot of shopping at the Galleria and good grubbing at Cheesecake - um um good Avocado Egg Rolls & Portabello Mushroom Sandwhich. I had to stop Kristen from eating a dog, not a hot dog, at Reliant. Hahahah. I impressed myself with my mall patience, in the past I would slit my wrists by the amount time I spent there. Later that night I played NCAA Football '06 with Sanket at my house and won a miracle game over OU. The night was capped off with Wedding Crashers at Alamo Drafthouse. MA WHERE'S THA MEATLOAF!!!!

Your dating personality profile:

Outgoing - You can liven up any party. You've got a way with people and have little difficulty charming your dates.
Adventurous - Just sitting around the house is not something that appeals to you. You love to be out trying new things and really experiencing life.
Liberal - Politics matters to you, and you aren't afraid to share your left-leaning views. You would never be caught voting for a conservative candidate.
Your date match profile:

Adventurous - You are looking for someone who is willing to try new things and experience life to its fullest. You need a companion who encourages you to take risks and do exciting things.
Practical - You are drawn to people who are sensible and smart. Flashy, materialistic people turn you off. You appreciate the simpler side of living.
Outgoing - Shy and timid people are not who you are after. You need someone with a vibrant personality to breathe life into a relationship.

Take the Online Dating Profile Quiz at Dating Diversions

I guess this is kind of accurate since it lists so many characteristics. I would rank wealthy/ambitious, intellectual, and funny higher on what I am looking for. Where can I find you?

Wow, I can't believe I am a Liberal. I remember the days when I attended Bush's election rally in 2000 in the rain, argued with Subin and Barry that a Missile Defense System was a great idea, explained to my Plan II friends the greateness of Wal Mart and the tax cuts of 2001, tried to convince Vik and Monica the validity of the Iraq War, defended the Patriot Act to a Professor of History in a semester write up, and stood up against my MIC friends telling them Affirmative Action is liberal racism.

Yes, that is my new address in North Carolina. Come visit me and send me stuff in the mail !!!!!

Only 2 weeks of work left and moving in exactly one month. Wow! I can't believe my time at King & Spalding is up and that I have been living at home for a year now. This year has gone by a lot faster that I had thought and even though I really never planned for this year "off" I am really happy about it. I traveled and partied across the country, read books I had been dying to read, and relaxed at home. I recommend to anyone going off graduate school to take a year off, earn some cash, and RELAX. More importantly, I am leaving on August 17th, so let's hang out before I move because you may never see me again! Also, if you want to party one last time hardcore come up to Austin August 4th through the 7th.
